Coloured Contact lense can cause blindness
Young Britons could be putting their sight at risk by wearing illegally sold cosmetic contact lenses, trading standards watchdogs warned.
For the cosmetic lenses, also known as plano or zero-powered lenses, are coloured, patterned or novelty contact lenses used for fashion, fancy dress or to enhance a person's appearance.
The lenses are popular with music fans and film buffs inspired by stars like Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson, and films like the Twilight Saga, to change the appearance of their eyes.
But experts are concerned at the growing trend because young people can increase the risk of infection by sharing them with friends.

When the boy collapsed near the end of the journey, she poured some of the little water she had on his head to cool him, but he was unconscious and could not drink.
